Why is this so important? Simply because it determines how fast you will lose weight. If your metabolism isn't fast enough, then putting on weight will be easy, but taking the weight off will be that same pain in the @#$%...lol..
I found this method online called the Zig-Zag method and what you do is you outsmart your body. And how you do that is you avoid prolonging your calorie deficit. So drop your calories for a period of 3 days..right? Then before your body slows down metabolism ( Which you DO NOT want to happen) increase your calorie intake above your maintance level.
If You continue to raise your calorie intake after 3 days, then you get all the benefits of a calorie deficit, and you avoid the negative sides of it.
